Flutist Yvonne Chavez Hansbrough divides her time between teaching and performing. She is currently Professor of Flute at The College of Saint Rose (Albany, NY), principal flutist with the Glens Falls Symphony, a member of Empire Baroque, flutist at Proctors Theater, and director/flutist of Saint Rose Camerata, faculty chamber ensemble at Saint Rose.

Yvonne is equally at home performing all styles of music in solo, chamber, and orchestral settings. She also plays historical and traditional flutes and enjoys her collection of over fifty flutes. She has traveled nationally and internationally as a flutist and teacher throughout the U.S., Hungary, Bulgaria, Greece, and England. She completed a 200-hour Yoga Teachers Training and Certification course in Power Vinyasa Flow/Hatha Interdisciplinary and teaches workshops on Yoga for Musicians.

Yvonne grew up in a small town in New Mexico. She comes from a Mexican-American family and proudly identifies as Latina.

Current projects include: her solo baroque flute recording “Suites, Sonatas, and Fantasias: Eighteenth-Century Flute Solos”, which was released 2021.
